    • The present subject matter relates to direct fuel injection-type spark-ignition internal combustion engine modified from a carburetor fed engine. The fuel injector (100) has an orifice, which is mounted within an injector sleeve (130) and has a fuel injector axis (145) along its centre. The central axes of the injector sleeve and the fuel injector are coaxial. The fuel stream (120) defines a cone angle a (135) and has a central axis (150). The central axis (150) of the fuel stream (120) forms a bent angle ß (140) with the fuel injector axis (145). The fuel injector (100) is capable of rotation along the injector sleeve axis (155) such that the orifice is capable of achieving a maximum rotational angle y (170), thereby spraying the fuel stream (120) directly into the combustion chamber without wetting walls of the cylinder head (115).

    • An electronic fuel injection (EFI) system for regulating fuel injection pressure at different operating conditions of a vehicle is described herein. The EFI system includes an ECU to operate a fuel injector, a fuel pressure regulator by means of inbuilt data sets and evaluating modules. The values for the required quantity of fuel to be injected in an intake manifold and the values for differential pressures of the fuel across the fuel injector at different operating conditions of the vehicle can be obtained from different data sets. These values are evaluated by an evaluating means to determine the duration of the fuel injector opening for a particular operating condition. Another data set provides multiple gain values based on the various differential pressures. These gain values along with an intake manifold pressure value is utilized by another evaluating module, thereby generating an output signal corresponding to the pressure of the fuel required within the fuel injector for different operating conditions.
