摘要： A device generates coefficient data of an estimating equation for converting a first information signal to a second information signal. The device performs decimation on a teacher signal to generate a student signal and acquires plural training data items from the teacher signal corresponding to the second information signal and the student signal corresponding to the first information signal. For each training data item, a similarity determination unit acquires the similarity of the student signal with respect to the first information signal corresponding to a second information signal at a position of interest. Coefficient seed data, which are coefficient data of a generation equation including the similarity as a parameter, are determined using the training data items and the similarity. A coefficient data computing unit determines, based on the generation equation, coefficient data of the estimating equation using the coefficient seed data and a similarity value indicating the highest similarity.

摘要： An information searching system includes an encoding apparatus and a searching apparatus. The encoding apparatus inputs information to be stored, encodes the input information in layers, and then stores the resulting per-layer encoding information in a database. The searching apparatus acquires information that has been thus encoded in layers in order from the upper layers thereof, compares the encoded information for an acquired search query to the encoded information for potential matches on a per-layer basis, decodes the information for the potential matches that resemble the search query on the basis of the comparison results, and then outputs the decoded information for the potential matches that resemble the search query. In so doing, searches are conducted rapidly and with reduced computational load.

摘要： A receiver measures strength of magnetic field generated by a transmitter and supplies it to a computer. The computer detects a viewpoint of a viewer based on the strength. The computer sets each pixel-displaying element arranged on the display portion of image display as a subject pixel-displaying element in turn. The computer obtains set pixel data from multiple items of pixel data constituting image data of one screen as pixel data corresponding to the subject pixel-displaying element. The image data has been obtained by a camera arranged for a position on an imaged plane corresponding to the split area in the display portion including the subject pixel-displaying element and stored in data storage. The set pixel data corresponds to a beam of light irradiated from the object along a straight line connecting the viewpoint and the subject pixel-displaying element. The computer supplies the set pixel data to a display.

An audiovisual room 1 is provided with one wall including an inner wall 2 and an outer wall 3. Part or all of the inner wall 2 forms a rear-projection screen 6C or a diaphragm (speaker unit) 6A. Equipment such as a projector 10 and an amplifier is placed in a space between the inner wall 2 and the outer wall 3. The space is large enough for a person to enter. Accordingly, a serviceperson etc. can enter the space to easily do works such as maintaining the equipment. The equipment such as the projector is not placed in the audiovisual room 1, making it possible to audiovisually receive contents without disordering a room atmosphere.

摘要： A class configuration generation unit generates (n−1) number of class configurations each of which is comprised of i number of the already selected features plus a feature selected from the remaining (n−i) number of the features (both of n and i are integers). A class configuration selection unit selects an optimal class configuration from the (n−i) number of the class configurations using an arbitrary evaluation value. The features used in the class configuration selected by the selection unit are used as the already selected features in the generation unit. An outer dome screen is disposed so as to surround a user, and an immersion image such as the scenery of the surroundings of an object is displayed thereon. An inner dome screen is disposed inside the outer dome screen, and it displays a bird's-eye image of the object as perceived by the vision of the user when the object is viewed from a viewpoint of the user. In this case, the user is allowed to readily grasp his/her own positional relationship by the bird's-eye image and is allowed to experience a sense of presence by the immersion image.
