摘要： An image forming apparatus comprises: an operation part having a display area and operable to receive an input from a user; a first display part operable to display, in a part of the display area, (i) a first image to be visible only from a range of a first viewing angle and (ii) a second image to be visible only from a range of a second viewing angle that does not overlap with the range of the first viewing angle; an audio output part operable to output an audio explaining the first image; and a second display part operable, while the audio explaining the first image is being output, to display, in a remaining part of the display area, a notification indicating that the audio explaining the first image does not correspond to the second image, such that the notification is visible from the range of the second viewing angle.

摘要： When a key input unit or a touch panel is pressed, a control unit identifies the commanded function. Then, the control unit causes a human-body communication unit to start processing for establishing human-body communication with a portable device worn by a user. On receiving user information from the portable device, the control unit makes reference to an authentication table and determines whether or not there is an entry for the received user information therein. Further, the control unit determines whether or not use of the identified function, out of the functions corresponding to the received user information, is allowed. The control unit performs display on the touch panel, according to the result of the determination.

摘要： An electrical device for controlling heater has a power supply connected in parallel with a heater or the like. A reducer such as a resistor is provided for reducing electrical current flowing into the heater. A switch can be operated by a controller to connect the heater to the electrical power supply or to connect the heater and the reducer in series to the electrical power supply. The controller operates the switch to disconnect the heater from the electrical power supply after operating the switch to connect the heater and the reducer in series to the power supply. Thus, even at a timing when the load of the power supply is the maximum and the capacitor charging current to the power supply increases, the change in the current through the heater becomes gradual, and the harmonic components in the current do not increase by using the reducer even if the timing of the maximum load overlaps with the timing of the stop of power supply to the heater.

摘要： Copying apparatus is provided in which outline copying for only a designated area of an original image can be easily selected. An area for the outline copying can be designated and images inside and outside the designated area can be copied in different colors. The arrangement includes a plurality of keys for designating an area of an original image to be copied and a scorotron charger for causing a potential in areas other than the outline portions of an electrostatic latent image, formed on a photoreceptor drum, to be substantially equal to a potential in an area containing the image. An eraser unit is provided for erasing the charge in an area where development is not required and a developing device develops the electrostatic latent image. A transfer charger is provided for transferring the image developed by the developing device onto copying paper. When an area of the original images designated and an outline image forming mode is selected by the operator of the machine, two copy operations are performed to composite an outlined image formed inside or outside the designated area and a normal image formed in the area which does not include the outline image so that a composite image is copied onto the copy paper.
