    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movable handrail for a passenger conveyor capable of preventing degradation of the adhesive force of a filler cloth of a connection part of a movable handrail to a slider by the tensile force of the movable handrail applied during the practical operation of the movable handrail by an escalator machine, and its connection method.
      SOLUTION: In the movable handrail for a passenger conveyor, a filler cloth 33a of the predetermined length is placed on a connection part of a thermoplastic elastomer-made movable handrail 3 having a slider layer 33 on the innermost side, an adhesive 36 is coated between the slider and the filler cloth, and the thermoplastic elastomer-made movable handrail is connected by heating the adhesive while pressing the adhesive by a die consisting of an upper die 200, a lower die 300 and a middle die 400 inserted inside the movable handrail. The adhesive 36 to be coated between the slider and the filler cloth has the thickness for withstanding the very small displacement between the filler cloth and the slider while being pressed/heated by the die.
