    • There is provided a railing system having a first rail member, a second rail member, and at least one locator space-insertable barrier member. Each space-insertable barrier member is connectable to both of the first and second rail members so as to occupy space between the first and second rail members and thereby interfere with movement of matter between the first and second rail members. At least one of the first rail member and the second rail member includes at least one locator structure. The locator structure defines a locator space for receiving insertion of at least one locator space-insertable barrier member and thereby effecting positioning of the at least one received locator space-insertable barrier member relative to the rail member whose locator structure is effecting the positioning.

    • There is provided a section of a guard component of a railing assembly including a reinforced rail member and a guard component section. The reinforced rail member includes a reinforced rail member shell section defining a shell space, and also includes a cap member and a strut coupling member. There is also provided a reinforcement member disposed in the shell space and effecting reinforcement of the rail member shell section. The cap member is urged into a biased engagement with the reinforcement member by a biasing force. The biased engagement effects coupling of the cap member to the reinforcement member. The guard component section subassembly includes a one of an upper rail member or a lower rail member, and a strut extending between and coupled to each one of: (i) the one of an upper rail member or a lower rail member, and (ii) the strut coupling member. The reinforced rail member defines the other one of an upper rail member or a lower rail member.

    • A deck railing section comprises synthetic posts held spaced from one another by top and bottom rail members. Each of the rail members has a multiple piece construction including first and second interlocking synthetic rail pieces and a metallic reinforcing insert. The insert has holes at post attachment locations along the insert. Each post has screw ports to opposite ends of the post. Rail members are secured to the posts by threaded attachment members passing through the holes in the inserts and into the screw ports of the posts. The first rail pieces are trapped between the posts and the inserts. The second rail pieces lock onto the first rail pieces hiding the reinforcing inserts internally of the rail members.

    • A plastic deck plank comprising a main load bearing plank member formed of low cost plastic material adapted to span between deck support members and a thin cover of higher cost plastic material supported by and snap locked to the main plank member.     • A roof for a modular building comprises a ridge beam extending along a ridge beam axis. The ridge beam includes, when viewed in cross section, a load bearing central section, and first and second roof panel connectors on opposed first and second sides of the central section. The roof further comprises at least a first and a second roof panel extending transversely to the ridge beam axis and downwardly and outwardly from the ridge beam. Each roof panel comprises an inner end portion and an outer end portion. The inner end portion of the first roof panel is engaged by the first roof panel connector, and the inner end portion of the second roof panel is engaged by the second roof panel connector. The roof further comprises a first tie for the outer end portion of the first roof panel, and a second tie for the outer end portion of the second roof panel. Each tie extends parallel to the ridge beam axis and comprises a top portion and a bottom portion. The top portion comprises a roof panel outer end channel in which the outer end of one of the first roof panel and second roof panel is received, and the bottom portion comprises a wall channel in which a wall of the modular building is received.
