摘要： In an AV-data transfer system, AV data stored in a RAID embedded in an AV server is supplied to a client personal computer connected to a network such as the Internet or an intranet by way of the network, and AV data output by the client personal computer is transmitted to the AV server through the network to be stored in the RAID. The AV server makes accesses to the RAID to write and read out data into and from the RAID. In addition to the AV server, the AV-data transfer system also includes another personal computer for exchanging AV data with the client personal computer and receiving a variety of commands from the client personal computer by way of the network in accordance with an FTP (File Transfer Protocol). As a result, it is possible to fast handle access requests made by a larger number of client personal computers.

摘要： A data recording and reproducing apparatus capable of easily obtaining information which has few dropout and is necessary for variable speed reproduction at the time of variable speed reproduction. An image group dividing unit divides input image data into a plurality of image groups on a unit image basis, thereby forming plural divided data. After the formed divided data is temporarily stored into an image data temporary storing unit, the divided data is outputted as image data which is a data stream of the divided data in a predetermined image unit to a disk array apparatus via an HDD output interface unit. Each disk array apparatus records the divided data into HDDs so as to periodically change the relation between the HDDs and the groups of data to be recorded to the HDDs in a predetermined pattern.

摘要： An information recording and replaying apparatus and a method of controlling the same are provided for manipulating information provided in real time and the other kind of information in a unified manner. A CG image produced by a CG producing apparatus is transferred to an AV server in the form of graphics commands and stored in disk arrays as they are. To replay a CG image, graphics commands are executed in a graphics circuit provided in the AV server to draw a graphics image. As a result, the time required for sending the CG image from the CG producing apparatus to the AV server is substantially reduced. The CG producing apparatus does not require a large-capacity storage for retaining drawn CG image data. The AV server stores the received graphics commands in the disk arrays as they are without expanding to CG image data. As a result, a large portion of the storage space of the disk arrays is not occupied.

摘要： This invention relates to an apparatus for storing and transmitting AV data. A receiving buffer unit for storing AV data temporarily, a transmitting buffer unit for storing temporarily the AV data to be transmitted, and a primary storage unit for storing AV data and a secondary storage units for storing AV data are connected to each other by means of a subnetwork. A server control unit for controlling the respective units is connected to the subnetwork. Since these units are connected by means of the subnetwork, any restriction is not given to spaces for installing the units. The capacities of the primary and secondary storage units and the transmitting buffer unit are selected so that they become larger in order of the secondary storage unit, the primary storage unit and the transmitting buffer unit. Thereby, the storage units and the transmitting buffer unit are controlled in a hierarchical form. This makes it possible to construct an AV sever system having large capacity and good responsivity with good cost balance.
