    • An electric power tool includes a housing, a motor disposed in the housing, a planetary gear reduction mechanism and an internal gear. The planetary gear reduction mechanism includes multi-stage planetary gears, multi-stage carriers each configured to carry a plurality of planetary gears, and a bearing assembled with a final-stage carrier from a rear side of the final-stage carrier to rotatably support the final-stage carrier. The internal gear is configured to be rotatable and axially slidable while allowing planetary motion of final-stage planetary gears supported by the final-stage carrier. A gear portion provided on the final-stage carrier is formed as a separate gear which is assembled with the final-stage carrier from the rear side of the final-stage carrier after assembling the bearing with the final-stage carrier.

    • In an impact tool, a hammer is divided into an inner-side main hammer engageable with or disengageable from an anvil and an outer-side sub hammer having a peripheral wall covering an outer periphery of the main hammer and formed as a separate member. The sub hammer is rotatably disposed in a rearward position, and the peripheral wall is engageable with the main hammer so that the main hammer and the sub hammer are unitarily rotatable. A connecting member is disposed between the main hammer and the peripheral wall in such a manner as to be movable between a connecting position and a disconnected position using a switching device. When the connecting member is moved in the connecting position, a drill mode is selected, in which retraction of the main hammer is restricted.

    • An impact driver with a vibration mechanism includes a vibration switching ring externally fitted to a second cam in the forward position in such a manner that an inner protrusion on the inner circumference is latched a protrusion on the outer circumference of the second cam so that the rotation of the second cam is restricted. Further, a coil spring is provided for biasing the vibration switching ring to the forward position. A link plate provided between the mode switching ring and the vibration switching ring latches onto the front surface of the vibration switching ring and engages an engaging protrusion at the rear end with a mode switching ring. The link plate moves forward or backward to a first position where the vibration switching ring moves to the forward position or a second position where the vibration switching ring moves to the backward position.

    • An electric power tool includes: a motor; an operation unit; a control parameter setting unit; and a control unit. The control parameter setting unit sets, as a control parameter of the motor, an optimum maximum rotational speed of the motor corresponding to a predetermined set torque or a control amount corresponding to the optimum maximum rotational speed. The control unit is configured to drive the motor in response to an operation amount of the operation unit and to control a rotational speed of the motor at or smaller than the optimum maximum rotational speed based upon the control parameter. The control parameter setting unit determines, as the optimum maximum rotational speed, a rotational speed of the motor that rotates with a rotational energy required to rotate the output shaft at the set torque and sets the optimum maximum rotational speed as the control parameter.
