[Class 3(ii)] Gas-filled electric discharge lamps are shaped as letters, &c., adapted to be built up in any desired combination. The letters, &c. 29 are hung on insulation-covered cross-bars 9-14 of which alternate ones 9, 11, 13 are in electric contact with a bus-bar arranged in one insulating vertical tube 7, and the intermediate ones 10, 12 are in contact with a bus-bar in an opposite tube 8. The bus-bars are connected respectively to the terminals of a radio frequency oscillator located in a base 2. To prevent radio frequency radiation the device is enclosed in an electrically conducted casing having a transparent front, and, if desired, transparent rear and sides. These transparent conducting panels may comprise plastic material coated with sodium silicate, or may consist of two spaced sheets of glass, &c., enclosing a layer of salt solution, dilute sulphuric acid, or other conducting liquid or solid. Alternatively the panels may be a layer of wire gauze, or a sheet of glass, &c., containing a wire mesh. Hooks of glass, metal, &c., or metal clips. are provided at the top rear of each letter, whereby it may be hung from the upper cross-bar or from other means. The sign may be upright or sloped or horizontal, and the bars 9-14 may be straight or any other shape. A single power unit may be connected to two or more separate signs.

[Class 20 (i)] Garden frames, cloches &c. are rendered readily movable by erecting rails on the ground to be covered by the cloches and by providing brackets and wheels which are attachable to the cloches so as to run on the rails. The rails consist of angle irons 3, Fig. 3, which seat in iron shoes 4 welded to spiked members 2 adapted to be driven into the ground. The wheels 16, Fig. 5, may be flanged or grooved to run on the rails, and are carried by studs 15, or by a bolt and nuts, mounted on the part 12 of a bent strip bracket 8 having a bent portion 10 forming a recess in which engages the angle iron 11 constituting the base member of the garden-frame &c.

[Class 20(i)] A cloche comprises two side panels 9, 16 one or both of which may be opened or entirely removed, a top panel 4, a supporting framework 17, 18, 19 and a pressure member having at least one limb 5 and at one or both ends of the limb a loop 10, which engages the framework and has an extension 8 with notches 22 which retain the adjacent side panel in an adjusted open position. As shown, the pressure member may have two limbs, each having loops and formed from a single wire. When, as shown, each limb has only one loop, one end of each limb engages an edge of the top panel by a hook 1, and a subsidiary pressure member is provided comprising a loop 13 which engages the supporting framework. The edges of panels may have protective members 23. Specification 583,379 is referred to.

[Class 20 (i)] A cloche which has two inclined glass &c. panels interconnected at their upper edges, has means for supporting the panels and connecting and retaining means, including at least two loops in a single length of wire, co-operating with the supporting means so that the distance between the top edges of the panels may be adjusted, and the panels retained in adjusted position. The panels 1, 2 may be supported at their lower edges by a pair of wire frames 3, 4 having hook ends 5, 6 and passing through loops formed in a wire connecting and retaining member consisting of a free end 8 engaging over the upper edge of one panel 1, an approximately circular loop 7, a loop 9, 10 in a plane approximately perpendicular to the the plane of the loop 7, a further loop 11 in approximately the same plane as the loop 7 and a free end 12 also engaging over the upper edge of the panel 1. The wire is bent to form notches 13, 13A; 14, 14A &c. into which the upper edge of the panel 2 may be inserted. Guards 16, 17, 18, 19 may be applied to the edges of the panels.
