    • A rectifying circuit (18) converts inputted AC power to DC power. An inverter circuit (22) converts the DC power to high-frequency power in accordance with a switching control signal applied thereto from a control circuit (50). A voltage transformer (24) voltage-transforms the voltage of the high-frequency power. An output-side rectifying circuit (40) rectifies the voltage-transformed power. An output detecting circuit (34) detects the magnitude of the voltage of the rectified power, and a signal representative of the detected voltage is applied to the control circuit (50). The control circuit (50) generates such a switching control signal as to make the rectified power have a predetermined value. The value of the voltage from the rectifying circuit (18) is detected by an input detecting circuit (62), and a signal representative of the detected voltage is applied to the control circuit (50). The control circuit (50) controls the operation of the inverter circuit (22) in accordance with the detected voltage representative signal from the input detecting circuit (62) and the saturation magnetic characteristic of the voltage-transformer (24).

    • This power supply device for an arc apparatus includes: a three phase full wave rectification circuit in which a plurality of semiconductor switching elements are connected in inverse parallel with a plurality of rectification elements, and which rectifies a three phase AC power supply; an AC reactor which is connected to the three phase AC power supply and the three phase full wave rectification circuit; a smoothing capacitor which smoothes the output voltage of the three phase full wave rectification circuit; an inverter circuit which converts the output of the smoothing capacitor to high frequency AC; and a rectification circuit which rectifies the output of the inverter circuit and supplies the result to a load.     • One of a plurality of voltages is adapted to be applied to power supply terminals (2a, 2b, 2c). A rectifying circuit (6) rectifies the applied voltage and develops a rectified voltage between the output terminals (6a, 6b) thereof. Inverters (16a, 16b) are connected into one of a plurality of inverter connections between the rectifier output terminals (6a, 6b) in response to one of a plurality of inverter connection indicative signals. The inverter connections are set to correspond to respective ones of the plurality of voltages, so that a predetermined voltage can be applied to each inverter whichever one of the plurality of voltages is applied to the power supply terminals. An inverter connection indicative signal generating circuit (34) is manually operated to generate a desired one of the inverter connection indicative signals. A thyristor (8) is disposed between the rectifier output terminals (6a, 6b) and the inverters (16a, 16b). When one of the plurality of voltages is applied to the power supply terminals, a voltage detecting circuit (38) generates an inverter connection indicative signal corresponding to the voltage applied to the power supply terminals. A judging unit (26d) determines whether or not the inverter connection indicative signals from the voltage detecting circuit (38) and the inverter connection indicative signal generating circuit (34) match. When the two signals match, a thyristor control unit (26a) provides a CLOSE signal to the thyristor (8). When the two signals do not match, an alarm circuit (42) is activated.

    • A small-sized DC power supply apparatus adapted for receiving input commercial AC voltages of different value includes an AC-to-DC converter 4 which converts an input commercial AC voltage to a first DC voltage. The first DC voltage is converted to a high-frequency voltage in an inverter 10 including IGBTs 10a-10d which are rendered conductive when a conduction control signal is applied thereto. A transformer 12 transforms the high-frequency voltage, which is, then, converted to a second DC voltage in a high-frequency-to-DC converter 16 for application to a load 22. The conduction control signal with a pause period disposed therein is generated in a controller 14. The conduction control signal occurs at a fixed period. The pause period disposed between the successive occurrences of the conduction control signal becomes longer as the input commercial AC voltage is higher.
