    • The present invention is directed to a polyisocyanate composition which is dispersible in water, has an average NCO functionality of 2 to 6 and containsa) a polyisocyanate adduct prepared from 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate or a mixture of hexamethylene diisocyanate with up to 70% by weight, based on the weight of the diisocyanates, of another diisocyanate andb) at least 10% by weight, based on the weight of the polyisocyanate adduct, of an emulsifier which is based on the reaction product ofi) a monohydroxy functional polyether wherein the ethylene oxide portion of the polyether has a molecular weight of 200 to 1000 and the polyether has a total molecular weight of 200 to 1500 withii) either a polyisocyanate adduct which corresponds to component a) or another polyisocyanate.The present invention is also directed to a composition which contains this polyisocyanate compositions and an aqueous resin containing isocyanate-reactive groups.

    • The present invention relates to process for preparing a coated substrate having improved resistance to yellowing which comprises coating a substrate with a one-component coating composition containinga) a blocked polyisocyanate which is the reaction product of a polyisocyanate with an oxime or lactam blocking agent for isocyanate groups andb) a compound containing at least two isocyanate-reactive groups,provided that component a) and/or component b) contains the group, --CO--(R)N--N(R)--CO--, wherein R represents hydrogen or an optionally substituted hydrocarbon radical, in an amount of 0.01 to 5% by weight, based on the solids content of components a) and b),by applying the one-component coating composition wet-on-wet to a coating composition containing acid groups and/or melamine resins which has previously been applied to the substrate or by adding a melamine resin to the one-component coating composition prior to applying it to the substrate, which may optionally have been precoated.The present invention also relates to the coated substrate having improved resistance to yellowing prepared by this process.

    • The present invention is directed to a polyisocyanate mixture having an NCO content of 10 to 47% by weight and a viscosity of less than 10,000 mPa.s and containing isocyanurate and allophanate groups in a molar ratio of monoisocyanurates to monoallophanates of 10:1 to 1:5, wherein the allophanate groups are formed from urethane groups which are based on the reaction product of an organic diisocyanate having (cyclo)aliphatic bound isocyanate groups and a monoalcohol containing at least 10 carbon atoms and having a molecular weight of 158 to 2500.The present invention is also directed to a process for the production of a polyisocyanate mixture having an NCO content of 10 to 47% by weight, having a viscosity of less than 10,000 mPa.s and containing isocyanurate and allophanate groups in a molar ratio of monoisocyanurates to monoallophanates of 10:1 to 1:5 bya) catalytically trimerizing a portion of the isocyanate groups of an organic diisocyanate having (cyclo)aliphatically bound isocyanate groupsb) adding 0.001 to 0.5 moles, per mole of organic diisocyanate, of a monoalcohol containing at least 10 carbon atoms and having a molecular weight of 158 to 2500 to the organic diisocyanate prior to or during the trimerization reaction of step a) andc) terminating the trimerization reaction at the desired degree of trimerization by adding a catalyst poison and/or by thermally deactivating the catalyst.Finally, the present invention is directed to the use of these polyisocyanate mixtures, optionally in blocked form, as an isocyanate components in the two-component coating compositions.
