    • An electric power unit for machining of a wire electric discharge machine for machining a workpiece (W) in which an electric discharge inductive pulse voltage is impressed upon between electrodes of a wire electrode (E) and workpiece (W), after insulation between the electrodes has been broken by the pulse voltage and electric discharge has been induced, a pulse voltage for machining is impressed upon between the electrodes so as to conduct machining on the workpiece (W). The electric power unit for machining of a wire electric discharge machine includes an electric discharge state discriminating means (1a) for discriminating a state of electric discharge generated between the electrodes and an impression voltage selecting means (1b) for inverting the polarity of the electric discharge inductive pulse voltage from the previous electric discharge inductive pulse voltage when an electric discharge state between the electrodes is discriminated to be abnormal (Y1) or open (Y3) by the electric discharge state discriminating means (1a) and for making the polarity of the electric discharge inductive pulse voltage to be the same as the polarity of the previous electric discharge inductive pulse voltage when the electric discharge state between the electrodes is discriminated to be normal (Y2) by the electric discharge state discriminating means. Thus the machining efficiency is improved.

    • A power source for electric discharge machining, which performs a semi-mirror-finish machining operation with a surface roughness of 1 .mu.m Rmax or less. The power source includes either a resonance circuit or an impedance matching circuit so that the electric discharge is carried out under the condition that resonance is caused to occur with the capacitance of an interelectrode gap between an electrode and a workpiece to be machined or the impedance-matching is effected in response to variation in interelectrode condition. With such a power source, it is possible to eliminate the effect of the stray capacitance exsiting in a current supplying line and also to eliminate the shortcoming due to variation on the interelectrode condition, and therefore a mirror-finished machining operation can be stably carried out to provide machined surfaces excellent in surface roughness.

    • In a wire electrode feeding device in a wire cut electric discharge machine, a roller unit having a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a rotor which is rotated by fluid supplied thereinto, a guide pipe connected to the fluid outlet of the roller unit, and a wire electrode winding mechanism provided near the fluid outlet of the guide pipe are used to convey and remove the wire electrode which is conveyed through a lower electrode guide and an electric feeder. As the fluid is supplied into the roller unit through the fluid inlet, the rotor is rotated, so that the direction of movement of the wire electrode is changed, and the wire electrode is conveyed through the fluid outlet of the roller unit and the guide pipe to the wire electrode winding mechanism by the fluid, thus being discharged out of the machine.
