摘要： An elongate medical body for implanting an embolic coil at a desired position, or retrieving an embolic coil from an aneurysm, includes a flexible wire main body, and an electromagnet provided at a distal end portion of the wire main body. The electromagnet can generate a magnetic field at the distal end portion. An energization state of the electromagnet is switched to attach and detach a spiral embolic coil having a magnetically attractable proximal end portion to and from the distal end portion.

摘要： The laser induced liquid jet generating apparatus irradiates a laser beam on a liquid in a main body, guides the generated liquid jet into a catheter via a nozzle, and generates a flow in the direction opposite the liquid jet. Even by the use of a catheter having a small outside diameter, therefore, the apparatus is enabled to effect powerful laser irradiation without being thermally affected by the laser beam and consequently shatter thrombus, for example, and recover by aspiration the shattered thrombus through the distal end of the catheter.

摘要： A wire for removing an intravascular foreign body comprises a flexible wire body, a branch part branching out from the forward end of the wire body, and a plurality of filaments extending across the branch part. The branch part and the filaments form a space for capturing a foreign body therein. At least one of the filaments is changeable in length so that the loop formed by the filament and the branch part changes in size. The wire is capable of relatively reliably capturing and removing a foreign body in the vessel.

摘要： Disclosed herein is a wire for removing foreign matter such as an embolus in a blood vessel. The wire includes a flexible elongated wire body and first and second holding portions provided at the front end of the wire body in spaced relationship with each other. The first and second holding portions are movable relative to each other in a longitudinal direction of the wire body. In operation, the first and second holding portions are moved relative to each other to reduce the distance between the first and second holding portions, thereby holding the foreign matter therebetween. Accordingly, the foreign matter in the blood vessel can be caught and removed reliably irrespective of the size of the foreign matter.

The trapping portion is deformable from a large-diameter state in which the non-branched portions branch to the distal end of the wire body forward in different directions and the filament portions are separated from each other, so that a space surrounded by the non-branched wire portions and the filament portions is formed to trap therein an obstruction in a blood vessel, to a small-diameter state in which the non-branched wire portions are positioned so that a distance between the wire portions is smaller than that of the wire portions in the large-diameter state.

In accordance with the wire for removing an intravascular foreign body according to the present invention, the foreign body in the blood vessel can be surely captured and removed.
