    • A long-life, inexpensive rotary anode for use in an X-ray tube having an X-ray generating layer formed by CVD on a graphite substrate and capable of producing high-power X-rays without the possibility of thermal cracks or delamination. When forming the X-ray generating layer of a tungsten-rhenium alloy on the graphite substrate through a rhenium intermediate layer by CVD, material gases are supplied intermittently so that the entire part or only the surface area of the X-ray generating layer will be formed of laminated structure of ultra-thin films each 0.1-5.0 microns thick. The content of rhenium in the tungsten-rhenium alloy forming the X-ray generating layer has a gradient form, i.e. increases from the interface with the rhenium intermediate layer toward the surface, so that the total amount of rhenium added can be reduced.

    • A slide cover apparatus for partitioning a machining head unit from a workpiece support unit comprises first and second cover assemblies. A main board and plural sub-boards of the first cover assembly are telescopically movable in a first horizontal direction, and the main board is formed with a vertically extending rectangular window. A center board and plural sub-boards of the second cover assembly which cover the rectangular window are guided by the main board for vertical movement. The main board is connected with a cross slide table of the machining head unit which is movable in the first horizontal direction, so as to be moved bodily by the cross slide table, while the center board is connected to be moved by a spindle head of the machining head unit. The spindle head on which a tool spindle is rotatably carried extending in a second horizontal direction perpendicular to the first horizontal direction is guided for vertical movement by a column, which is movable on said cross slide table in the second horizontal direction. The center board is formed with a tool-path hole which permits the tool spindle to pass therethrough, whereby the machining head unit is partitioned from the workpiece support unit except for the tool-path hole.

    • A fillet rolling machine having a frame, on which a work spindle with a chuck is carried for rotation about a horizontal axis. A tailstock is mounted on the frame for supporting one end of a crankshaft to be processed while the same is grasped and rotated by the chuck. A head support is movable on the top of the frame in a direction parallel to the axis of the work spindle and carries first to third support shafts in parallel relation with the axis of the work spindle. The first and second support shafts, disposed in parallel with each other, respectively carry first and second rolling heads which respectively effect rolling treatments on fillets formed at one of journals and one of crankpins adjacent thereto of the crankshaft. The third support shafts, disposed co-axially with the first support shaft, carries a third rolling head which effects a rolling treatment on a fillet formed at a front journal of the crankshaft. Each journal and crankpin gripped by the front ends of the associated rolling heads are given rolling treatments during the rotation of the work spindle. A servomotor controllable in accordance with numerical control data is drivingly connected to the head support, so that first and second rolling heads can be brought into respective alignments with any pair of a journal and a crankpin of the crankshaft.

    • A film laminating apparatus attaches films to electronic circuit boards, such as printed circuit boards and silicone boards or wafers. The film laminating apparatus conveys a plurality of boards at intervals, forms pieces of lamination film at the intervals of the boards on a base film with a processing area between boards and continuously conveys the base film into a reduced-pressure chamber having a board loading port, a film loading port, a laminating mechanism for attaching the lamination film on the base film to the boards, and a board unloading port for ejecting the laminated boards. Shutters are provided for opening and closing shutter sections provided in the board loading port and the board unloading port of the reduced-pressure chamber, and a vacuum source is provided for evacuating the reduced-pressure chamber when the reduced-pressure chamber is closed by the shutters. A shutter section is equipped with a shutter in the film loading port of the reduced-pressure chamber, and a detector is provided for detecting when a processing area in the film between boards being fed into the reduced-pressure chamber is in the shutter section of the film loading port. A control means then operates the shutter means of the film loading port, the board loading port, and the board unloading port to close the reduced-pressure chamber according to the result of detection by the detecting means, and actuates the vacuum source to evacuate the reduced-pressure chamber to a desired degree of vacuum. Then, the laminating means is actuated.

    • In a workpiece transfer apparatus for a plurality of serially arranged machine tools, a horizontally extending transfer bar which forms a part of a parallel motion mechanism is provided alongside work tables of the machine tools and is vertically movable. A plurality of linear motion members is mounted on said transfer bar at the same interval as the machine tools and is connected to be bodily movable along the transfer bar. Each of the linear motion members carries a plurality of arm members each pivotable about a vertical axis for horizontal swing motion. A transfer jig for supporting a workpiece thereon is secured to each of the arm members. A feed cylinder device is provided to move the linear motion members along the transfer bar so as to transfer each workpiece from a position facing one machine tool to another position facing another machine tool successive thereto. A loading cylinder device is provided to horizontally swing all or a corresponding one of the arm members so as to load workpieces onto the work tables and unload the same therefrom. Further, an elevation cylinder device is provided to vertically move the transfer bar so as to seat the workpieces on the work tables and lift up the same therefrom.
