    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device with high brightness or reflectivity, which is capable of displaying images in color, has a high aperture ratio, color reproducibility, contrast, resolution, and light utilization efficiency, has a small number of components, is easily miniaturized, made thinner, and manufactured in an integrated form through a simple manufacturing process, and has simple wiring.SOLUTION: A display device comprises a plurality of arrayed display elements, each of which includes: a plurality of movable parts each having a movable electrode, whose tilt angles modulate the area of incidence of display light, provided in respective three or more directions parallel to a display screen to reflect or absorb display light in different wavelength bands; a plurality of first fixed electrodes which are provided in three or more directions parallel to the display screen and are connected to wiring located at least in different layers placed in parallel with the display screen; and drive means which modulates the tilt angles of the movable parts by pivoting the movable parts. The drive means modulates the area of incidence of the display light to each movable part to modulate wavelength bands to be reflected or absorbed, thereby modulating the display.
