    • An evaporative fuel treatment apparatus for a vehicle includes a direct purge channel for supplying evaporative fuel to a purge channel without involving a canister; a purge control valve for controlling communications between the canister and an air-intake system of an internal combustion engine by an opening and closing operation; a direct purge control valve for controlling communications between a fuel tank and the air-intake system by another opening and closing operation; and a two-way valve provided in a charge channel. During a purge mode of the apparatus, evaporative fuel adsorbed in the canister is purged to the air-intake system by closing the direct purge control valve and opening the purge control valve during operation of engine. During a direct purge mode of the apparatus, evaporative fuel in the fuel tank is purged to the air-intake system by closing the purge control valve and opening the direct purge control valve.

    • According to one embodiment, a disk device rotates a disk information storage medium to record and reproduce information on the information storage medium by use of a head that slides in contact with a lubricant coated on the information storage medium, wherein a sliding speed U, area A and normal force N are set to cause U×A/N to fall within a monotonously increasing region in which a coefficient of friction associated with a frictional force occurring in a contact area of the head that faces the information storage medium monotonously increases as U×A/N increases, where the sliding speed U represents a sliding speed at a sliding time of the head, the area A represents the contact area of the head, and the normal force N represents a normal force applied to the contact area of the head.

    • A flying head slider includes a write head element and a read head element mounted on the slider body. A first transformable actuator serves to protrude the write head element toward a recording medium. A second transformable actuator serves to protrude the read head element toward the recording medium. The first and second transformable actuators can separately be controlled. The amount of protrusion can thus be individually controlled for the write head element and the read head element. The flying height can individually be set above the surface of the recording medium for the write head element and the read head element. Such an adjustment of the flying height enables the write head element and the read head element to simultaneously get closest to the recording medium.
