    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to heat heavy oil in the drum can easily and safely by a method wherein the drum can is placed on a transfer carriage and the carriage is received within a furnace which is opened and closed freely. CONSTITUTION:The drum can 7 is placed on the transfer carriage 5 and transferred into the furnace A together with the carriage by opening a divided furnance body 1b. Then the drivided furnace body 1b is closed and steam is supplied into a heat discharge pipe 3 so that the temperature in the furnace A rises and the heavy oil in the drum can 7 is heated. Accordingly, the drum can 7 can be transferred easily by a single person and since the heat source is steam, there is no danger of causing a fire.

Since the part between the valve 4 and the valve seat 3 is opened and closed by once intercepting the fluid flow and reducing the flow speed between the valve 4 and the valve seat 3 into nearly zero, the breakage and abrasion of the valve 4 and the valve seat 3 due to the direct collision of the fluid containing slurry and having high temperature and high pressure with the valve 4 and the valve seat 3 can be prevented.
