摘要： PURPOSE: To provide a method for treating a knitting with a caustic alkali to economically obtain a high-quality knitting by restoring a cylindrical knitting, which is expanded in the longitudinal direction and shrunk in the width direction during the scouring and bleaching steps, to the original conditions, cutting it into a developed cloth, and treating it by various steps, e.g. treatment with an alkali, washing with water by a shower, and neutralization with an organic acid. CONSTITUTION: In this method, restores a cylindrical knitting, which is expanded in the longitudinal direction and shrunk in the width direction during the scouring and bleaching steps, is restored to the original conditions; it is cut into a developed cloth, it is sent to rolls continuously arranged in a caustic alkali solution with which it is impregnate, it is washed by showers from both upper and lower sides to remove the caustic alkali, while it is being transferred by a tenter, and it is sent to a roll provided in a water tank, where it is sufficiently washed with water for finishing. By this method, required sizes of the treatment facilities can be reduced, saves water, and the cloth can be treated with an alkali highly economically.
