摘要： A noninvasive patient-specific method is provided to aid in the analysis, diagnosis, prediction or treatment of hemodynamics of the cardiovascular system of a patient. Coronary blood flow and pressure can be predicted using a 3-D patient image-based model that is implicitly coupled with a model of at least a portion of the remaining cardiovascular system. The 3-D patient image-based model includes at least a portion of the thoracic aorta and epicardial coronaries of the patient. The shape of one or more velocity profiles at the interface of the models is enforced to control complex flow features of recirculating or retrograde flow thereby minimizing model instabilities and resulting in patient-specific predictions of coronary flow rate and pressure. The invention allows for patient-specific predictions of the effect of different or varying physiological states and hemodynamic benefits of coronary medical interventions, percutaneous coronary interventions and surgical therapies.

The methods include increasing empathy in a subject, such as a human, by increasing type 2 theta oscillations in a brain region of the subject, thereby increasing empathy in the subject. The human subject may have a psychiatric or neurological condition that causes suboptimal empathy. Modulating type 2 theta oscillations in a brain region of a subject can be accomplished by optogenetic treatment, electric stimulation of a brain region, administration of a pharmaceutical drug, or a combination thereof. Also provided are systems for performing the methods disclosed herein.

摘要： Kerr and electro-optic frequency comb generation in integrated lithium niobate devices is provided. In various embodiments, a microring resonator comprising lithium niobate is disposed on a thermal oxide substrate. The microring resonator has inner and outer edges. 摘要： A method of x-ray fluoroscopy images a region of interest at distinct first and second imaging projection angles using digital subtraction x-ray fluoroscopic imaging with a fiducial marker board positioned in a field of view containing the region of interest to produce first and second sets of images. Image segmentation information is determined to identify an anatomical feature in the region of interest imaged in the first set of images and the second set of images. The region of interest is then imaged using x-ray fluoroscopic imaging, again with the fiducial marker board positioned in a third field of view containing the region of interest, but without digital subtraction, to produce a third set of images. A virtual image of the anatomical feature is projected onto the third set of images, computed from the image segmentation information and from a predetermined geometric relationship of markers within the fiducial marker board.

摘要： Computational methods are used to create cardiovascular simulations having desired hemodynamic features. Cardiovascular modeling methods produce descriptions of blood flow and pressure in the heart and vascular networks. Numerical methods optimize and solve nonlinear equations to find parameter values that result in desired hemodynamic characteristics including related flow and pressure at various locations in the cardiovascular system, movements of soft tissues, and changes for different physiological states. The modeling methods employ simplified models to approximate the behavior of more complex models with the goal of to reducing computational expense. The user describes the desired features of the final cardiovascular simulation and provides minimal input, and the system automates the search for the final patient-specific cardiovascular model.
