    • A chenille embroidery machine is provided to prevent a driving cam from being damaged due to collision generated by a cam roller and the driving cam, by accurately determining whether the cam roller enters a cam follower of the driving cam using a displacement sensor. A driving cam(15) has cam followers(16) at both sides thereof, wherein the driving cam transfers a rotary force from a main shaft to a needle stage. A needle stage driving lever(20) has a cam roller(30), which enters or exits one cam follower of the driving cam, at an upper end thereof. The needle stage driving lever is fluctuated upwardly and downwardly by horizontal fluctuation of the cam roller. A nipple driving lever(20) has another cam roller, which enters or exits the other cam follower of the driving cam, at an upper end thereof. The nipple driving lever is fluctuated upwardly and downwardly by horizontal fluctuation of the cam roller. A needle stage driving bracket(33) is linked with the needle stage driving lever, and fluctuated upwardly and downwardly. A nipple driving bracket(35) is linked with the nipple driving lever, and fluctuated upwardly and downwardly. A displacement sensor(100) is installed within a stroke length of at least one of the needle driving bracket and the nipple driving bracket.

A needle bar driving reaction force, which is applied to the upper shaft by driving the needle bar elevating driver, and a cloth press member driving reaction force, which is applied to the upper shaft by driving the cloth press member elevating driver, are operated in opposite directions, thereby offsetting the reaction forces applied to the upper shaft.
