    • A liquid crystal display (“LCD”) device includes a display panel, a data driving part, and at least one first light-blocking part and at least one second light-blocking part. The display panel includes a plurality of pixels and a plurality of data lines. The pixels are arranged in a column direction and a row direction. At least one of the data lines extends in a zigzag shape along the column direction to be discontinuously disposed between two adjacent columns of the pixels. The at least one data line is electrically connected to two of the pixels that are adjacent in the row direction. The second light-blocking part is thinner than the first light-blocking part. The first light-blocking part and the second light-blocking are repeatedly disposed on an area between two adjacent columns of the pixels. The data driving part applies a data signal to the data lines.

    • A scan driver drives a display device having a plurality of gate lines transferring scan signals, and a plurality of source lines transferring data signals. The scan driver includes a shift register and a multiple signal applying unit. The shift register includes a plurality of cascade-connected stages, each stage having an output terminal electrically connected to a respective one of the plurality of gate lines. The multiple signal applying unit applies a sub scan signal and a main scan signal. The sub scan signal and the main scan signal sequentially activate each of the plurality of gate lines. Therefore, the scan lines receive the scan signal twice, so that the liquid crystal capacitors electrically connected to the gate lines receive the data voltage twice. As a result, even though the time for charging the liquid crystal capacitors may be reduced, the liquid crystal capacitors may be fully charged to enhance display quality.

    • A gate drive circuit includes plural stages connected together one after each other. Each of the plural stages includes a circuit transistor, a capacitor part, a first connection part and a second connection part. The circuit transistor outputs the gate signal through a source electrode in response to a control signal applied through a gate electrode. The capacitor part includes a first electrode, a second electrode formed on the first electrode, and a third electrode formed on the second electrode. The first connection part electrically connects the gate electrode of the circuit transistor and the second electrode of the capacitor part. The second connection part electrically connects the source electrode of the circuit transistor and the first electrode of the capacitor part. Thus, an integrated size of a gate drive circuit may be decreased, and a reliability of a gate drive circuit may be enhanced.

    • A gate driver comprises a shift register that has a plurality of stages connected together and outputs a gate signal comprising a first pulse and a second pulse to a gate line. A stage includes a holding part, a pre-charging part, a pull-up part, and a pull-down part. The holding part discharges an output terminal to an off-voltage in response to a first clock signal. The pre-charging part turns off the holding part and outputs the first clock signal as the first pulse to the output terminal in response to an output signal of a previous stage. The pull-up part outputs a second clock signal as the second pulse to the output terminal in response to the output signal of the previous stage. The pull-down part discharges the first output terminal to the off-voltage in response to an output signal of a next stage.
