    • A method for controlling semiconductor fabricating equipment includes receiving at a maintenance module in a host computer first maintenance data generated from semiconductor fabricating equipment. A value of the first data is compared with a predesignated first reference threshold at the maintenance module. A warning message is displayed on a display device, if the value of the first data is not less than the first reference threshold. If the value of the first data is not less than the first reference threshold, second maintenance data is received, and it is determined whether maintenance of the fabricating equipment occurred. If not, the value of the second data is compared with a predesignated second reference threshold at the maintenance module. If the value of the second data is not less than the second reference threshold, the fabricating equipment is interlocked by the maintenance module, and the fabricating equipment is stopped.

    • A method for controlling emergency states of equipment in a semiconductor fabrication system includes determining whether on-line communication has been restored between a host computer and semiconductor fabrication equipment after an interruption in communication. If on-line communication has been restored, post-restoration emergency state data are received automatically from the equipment. Then it is determined whether the post-restoration emergency state data indicate the equipment is in a warning state. If the post-restoration emergency state data indicate the warning state, it is determined whether the warning state is a critical state. If the warning state is the critical state, a key value of a variable ID corresponding to the equipment is changed to a value indicative of shutting down the equipment. Then the equipment is shut down by inserting the variable ID into an equipment control message and downloading the equipment control message to the equipment. As a result, unforeseen operational problems can be prevented in advance and the work load of the operator can be considerably reduced.

    • Provided is a method for improving secretion efficiency of a recombinant foreign protein in a yeast expression system. The method includes transforming a yeast host with a recombinant foreign gene construct containing a galactose-inducible promoter, a secretion signal sequence and a gene encoding the foreign protein to construct a transformed yeast strain; and culturing the transformed yeast strain under the condition that the activity of the galactose-inducible promoter is controlled. Improved secretion efficiency of the foreign protein can be achieved by decreasing overexpression-induced insoluble precipitation of the recombinant foreign protein suffered by a conventional galactose-inducible promoter-based yeast expression system, via appropriate control of a level of galactose functioning as an inducer of the galactose-inducible promoter in cells. Due to improved secretion efficiency of the recombinant foreign protein, present invention makes a contribution to improvement in productivity of recombinant foreign proteins in the yeast expression system and reduction in production costs.

    • A method for controlling semiconductor fabrication equipment prevents an operator from accidently operating a piece of equipment which is in an interlocked state, since a host computer automatically stores information on any interlocked piece of equipment, and rechecks that information before allowing any product to be introduced into a piece of equipment. Optimal process conditions for each process are registered in the host computer. The registered optimal process condition is compared with process data reported from each piece of equipment. If it is determined that the reported data are in the range of the optimal process conditions in view of the comparison, it is then determined whether or not the reported data also satisfy a specific rule registered in the host computer. If it is determined that the reported data satisfy the specific rule, the process continues. Otherwise, if it is determined that the reported data do not satisfy the specific rule, the equipment and a tracking module of the host computer are simultaneously interlocked and the interlocking is automatically saved in the host computer. The process is stopped until the process failure is solved.
