An OWL model ontology can be generated by receiving XML schema documents, performing schema consolidation, and generating the OWL model ontology from the consolidated XML schema. An OWL instance ontology can be generated by receiving XML documents and XML schema documents and generating an OWL instance ontology from the XML documents and the XML schema documents. OWL model extraction and OWL instance generation can be performed in parallel and without the need for intermediate XSLT documents. Schema consolidation can comprise collecting schema documents, merging schema documents, and reorganizing the merged schema document to create a consolidated schema document.

Each of these Java classes includes one or more Java members and one or more Java objects. The Java objects are used to instantiate each of the Java classes. An OWL class is created for each of the Java classes, and an OWL concept is created for each of the Java members. Further, an OWL instance is created for each of the Java objects. Each of the OWL classes, the OWL concepts, and the OWL instances are assigned data type properties and object properties. The method includes generating a behaviorally equivalent CSP description of the business process and trace equivalent CSP description of event logs. Further the generation of CSP processes for a business process includes segregating a business process model into a set of workflow patterns with connectivity between the workflow patterns, generating a CSP process corresponding to each workflow pattern, composing the CSP processes in parallel with connectivity between the CSP processes, and synchronizing the CSP processes on common activities of the CSP processes. Lastly the generation of a CSP description of the event log is performed by constructing a CSP process for each trace in the event log and combining the CSP descriptions using external choice operator.

    • The present invention includes a method and a system for creating Web Ontology Language (OWL) ontology from a Universal Business Language (UBL) process diagram. The UBL process diagram includes one or more processes, one or more partitions, one or more activities, one or more objects, an initial node, and a final node. At least one of the processes, the partitions, the activities, and the objects are extracted from the UBL process diagram. A first OWL class, a second OWL class, and a third OWL class are created corresponding to the processes, partitions, and objects, respectively. Thereafter, an object property is created corresponding to each of the activities, the initial node, and the final node. Finally, the first OWL class, the second OWL class, the third OWL class, and each of the created object property are added to obtain the OWL ontology.
