摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data generation apparatus that simplifies a process of updating a virtual file system (VFS) at the time of changing data. SOLUTION: Disk-stored data and subsequent data stored in a local storage are provided for a user device that performs a reproduction process using the virtual file system (VFS). The subsequent data is made reproducible according to general reproduction control information which can be used commonly to different pieces of subsequent data. For example, an AV stream file is so generated as to comply with the number of reproduction packets, a reproduction start position, a read start position of an I picture, and the number of bytes read, which are specified in the clip information of the general reproduction control information. Through the use of the file, the process of updating the virtual file system (VFS) requiring file name conversion table updating and the like is simplified, high-speed updating of the VFS can be attained when the subsequent data is changed, and the time until the start of reproduction can be reduced.
