    • A monitor system which can flexibly deal with changes in the system structure and perform monitoring of high quality includes a plurality of cameras and connected via a communication medium. Each of the plurality of cameras includes: an image capturing device which captures an image of an image capturing area included in a monitoring area and changes the image capturing area; a communication unit which (i) transmits, to another camera via the communication medium, the image capturing characteristics information for identifying the image capturing area and (ii) receives image capturing characteristics information from another camera; and an image capturing characteristics change unit which changes the image capturing area by controlling the image capturing device of the camera based on the image capturing characteristics information of the camera and the image capturing characteristics information of another camera received in the communication unit so that the image capturing area of the camera and the image capturing area of another camera have a predetermined relation.

    • An operation log cooperation utilizing device 10 which enables a cooperation control on a plurality of devices using separately managed operation logs. The operation log cooperation utilizing device 10 (i) detects a user's operation on a device (101), (ii) accumulates and manages the detected operation as an operation log (102), and (iii) transmits a current operation log as a current operation log to other devices (103). On the other hand, the operation log cooperation utilizing device 10 (i) receives current operation logs from other devices (104), (ii) extracts, as associated operation logs, operation logs which are in predetermined relations to the received current operation logs (105), and (ii) transmits the extracted operation logs to other devices (106). Moreover, the operation log cooperation utilizing device 10 (i) receives associated operation logs from other devices (107), (ii) interprets the received associated operation logs (108), (iii) presents the user with the associated operation logs based on the interpretation result (109), (iv) determines the cooperating operation details for other devices based on the presented associated operation logs (110), and (v) transmits the determined cooperating operation details to the corresponding devices (111). Then, the operation log cooperation utilizing device 10 receives cooperating operation details from other devices (112), and provides the device control unit with the received cooperating operation details.

    • A device linkage control system is provided that includes a life data recording apparatus for accumulating usage information on the use of devices by a user, as life data, and a life pattern extraction apparatus including an episode creation unit that takes, as element data, details related to an identified episode from among life data and creates episode data which is a combination of the element data. Moreover, the system includes an episode analysis unit that analyzes relationships between the element data included in the episode data, and a life pattern interpretation unit that identifies, from the relationships between the element data, the life pattern which is characteristic of the user, and records this pattern, as life pattern information, and a control apparatus for linkage controlling of the devices by using the life pattern information of the user stored in the life pattern storage unit.

    • An attendant circumstance utilization device provides a function of equipment and a content appropriate to a user by considering the attendant circumstance by whom the user is accompanied, and includes an attendant ID detecting unit (101) to detect an attendant information (attendant ID) indicating by whom the user is accompanied and an equipment operation detecting unit (103) to detect an equipment operation. An equipment operation activity particular to the user who was accompanied by the current attendant in the past time is judged by an attendant circumstance dependent operation activity judging unit (105) based on the attendant ID newly detected by the attendant ID detecting unit (101), the history data of the attendant ID in the attendant ID database (102) and the equipment operation history data in the operation history database (104). A function/content providing unit (106) provides the user with a function of equipment and a content depending on the particular equipment operation activity.
