摘要： A program recording method receives and records a desired program, the recording of which is set based on at least a broadcast time period and a broadcast channel. The method includes obtaining an electronic program guide and, when the desired program recording is set, searching a character string in a predetermined region of the electronic program guide including the broadcast time and broadcast channel, and changing the broadcast time period to a new time period when a predetermined word is included in the character string. A program recording apparatus for performing the method is also provided. The program recording apparatus and method ensure that a situation does not occur in which an end portion of the desired program is not recorded.

摘要： The purpose of the present invention is to make it possible to perform a process in a good condition when an automatic video-record reservation such as a series reservation and another video-record reservation are overlapped. According to the present invention, it is performed a first record reservation process for detecting a program coinciding with a preset condition from program data which guide the programs broadcasted by a predetermined broadcast service and for record reserving the detected broadcast program; a second record reservation process for record reserving a broadcast program by a different process from the program detection of the program data; and reservation cancel process for judging whether or not there is an overlapping with the time zone made a reservation by the first record reservation process when the second record reservation process is performed, for notifying it when there is an overlapping reservation, for setting only one of the selected record reservation, and for canceling the other record reservation.

摘要： An IRD (Integrated Receiver-Decoder) causes SmartFile information of a D-VHS (Digital-Video Home System) to be read so as to operate the D-VHS on the basis of the SmartFile information. The IRD instructs the D-VHS to record a program, extracts content information and relevant information from a broadcast signal received by an antenna, and outputs the content information and relevant information to the D-VHS. The D-VHS records the input content information and relevant information in accordance with an instruction from the IRD. Furthermore, the IRD causes the recorded relevant information to be read from the D-VHS and displays it on a monitor, selects a program on the basis of the displayed relevant information, and sends an instruction for playing back the selected program to the D-VHS. The D-VHS plays back the content information in accordance with this playback instruction.
