    • PURPOSE: To obtain the can barrel material most suitable for foods wherein the considerably thick rust proof layer is formed uniformly and no rust is generated, by electro-depositing synthetic resin powder at least on the inner surface of the joint part after the edge parts of the can barrel is joined and forms the rust proof layer.
      CONSTITUTION: Material 1 is raw material of a quadrangle shape for a can barrel and is bent successively during the desired process and formed into the raw material 2 of a square cross section. Both edge parts 2a, 2b of the raw material 2 are not yet jointed, the nozzle 3 etc. feeding synthetic resin powder is inserted inside the square raw material 2 through the clearance of both edge parts 2a, 2b. Both edge parts 2a, 2b of the raw material 2 are joined along the longitudinal direction by means of electro-welding, etc.. Synthetic resin powder 5 is electro-deposited at least on the inner face of the joining part 4 and the rust proof layer 6 is formed thereon.

    • PURPOSE: To improve work efficiency and sealing property by electrodepositing synthetic resin powder for bonding agent to necessary part of can material and forming a layer of bonding agent by heating and depositing the powder.
      CONSTITUTION: Synthetic resin powder 8 for bonding agent is electrodeposited utilizing static electricity on left, right, upper and lower side edges 2, 3, 6, 7 of material 1 for can making. Next, the powder 8 is heated and deposited to adhere closely and a layer 9 of bonding agent is formed. The layer 9 of bonding agent is formed on both sides 10, 11 of left, right, upper and lower joining edges 2, 3, 6, 7 and end face 12. It is desirable to cut four corners of the can material 1 to form the layer of bonding agent on each end face 13. If desired, the layer of bonding agent is formed on specified joining edges of cover material and bottom material, not illustrated, by electrodeposition. By this way, forming of layers of bonding agent can be made easily and surely.
