    • An overhead console assembly for a vehicle includes accessory module compartments selectively positioned and removably secured to the overhead console for storing materials within the compartments. The overhead console includes a first console housing disposed to an miner surface of a structural member of a headliner assembly on a roofline of a vehicle, a second console housing disposed on the structural member of the headliner spaced apart from the first console housing and a center console housing disposed between the first and second console housings. At least one accessory module is removably secured to the center console housing. The at least one accessory module includes a housing, a storage area defined within the housing to retain materials stored within, and at least one securing member coupling the at least one module to a securement surface provided on the center console housing.

    • A conductive liner includes an electrically non-conductive core layer between two electrically conductive layers. At least one of the two electrically conductive layers includes conductive particles. The electrically conductive layers are capable of conducting sufficient electricity to power at least one electrical component in a vehicle. In a preferred embodiment, the conductive particles are fibers, such as carbon fibers, or the like that are preferably homogeneously dispersed within the conductive layer. The conductive fiber layers provide structural reinforcement to the liner, in addition to providing electrical conductivity. The conductive liner can further include a top and bottom scrim/adhesive layer, as well as a decorative, cover material layer. The present invention eliminates the need for a separate wiring and wire harness as in conventional liners. When the conductive layer comprises reinforcing fiber, the present invention also eliminates the need to have non-conductive reinforcing material, such as fiberglass reinforcing layers to sandwich the core layer of the liner. A method of making the electrically conductive liner of the invention is also disclosed.

    • An interior trim panel, such as a headliner, formed by a substrate composed of a fibrous or porous batt material, such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The substrate includes a first, back side and second, front side. In order to increase the strength of the substrate, dimples or impressions are formed in the back side of the substrate and corresponding projections are formed extending from the opposite front side by simultaneously compressing both sides of the fibrous batt material. A structural layer of material is then attached to the substrate, preferably to the projections of the substrate, resulting in an “I-beam” structure that further enhances the strength of the interior trim panel. In another embodiment, a second layer of fibrous or porous batt material may be placed between the projections before fixedly attaching the structural layer of material to the substrate.
