摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat display of an improved visibility in which a user visually confirms changes of situation on a display screen clearly.
SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display layer 13 comprises a display panel 1 held by base boards 11 and 12, first and second light sources 3 and 50 so installed as to face the display panel, a light guide plate 2 provided between the display panel and the light sources, a condensing optical system 10 which is so arranged as to surround and cover the light sources and is optically connected to each of the side walls facing each other at the light guide plate, and a control part for controlling timing of turning on the first light source and the second light source. The second light source 50 flashes when lit.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate for surface light source which is easy to manufacture and in which light utilization efficiency is high by making the luminance distribution on the surface easily uniform, and which has uniform and bright luminance without variations on display surface when used as a back light of a transmission type liquid crystal display device or the like.
SOLUTION: This light guide plate for surface light source is a transparent plate, and the light from the light source arranged facing its surrounding end face enters the transparent plate from the end face facing the light source, and the light guided by internal reflection is scattered by a scattering source arranged on one face of the transparent plate and is emitted by being scattered from the surface side of the transparent plate, thereby, it is used as the surface light source. The scattering source is arranged on one face of the transparent plate in uniform density and the thickness of the transparent plate is distributed in smooth curved shape so that the luminance of the light scattered on the surface side of the transparent plate may become nearly uniform in the surface.

SOLUTION: This exhaust gas concentration-desorption apparatus comprises a vessel provided with an exhaust gas outlet/inlet, an absorbing material packed into the vessel for adsorbing the exhaust gas, a power source comprising an AC power supply of 1 to 1,000 Hz, a pulsed power supply, a rectangular wave power supply, or a power supply having a triangular wave current, and non-thermal plasma applying means for generating ionized gas with respect to the adsorbing material upon discharge from any one of the above power supplies under room temperature and atmospheric pressure conditions.
