摘要： A manufacturing method of a substrate for display panel comprises a step of forming an organic insulating film on a light transmissive substrate and a step of patterning the organic insulating film to form a first opening and a second opening smaller than the first opening formed as through holes therein. In particular, this patterning step includes a lithography process of selectively exposing the organic insulating film to light with the use of a photomask and removing the light-exposed portions, the photomask being so set that the average light transmittance is lower at a light transmissive area for the first opening than at a light transmissive area for the second opening.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device comprises a poly-silicon TFT substrate having a condenser type digital analog converter, an another substrate disposed so as to face the poly-silicon TFT substrate, and liquid crystal positioned between the poly-silicon TFT substrate and the another substrate. In this liquid crystal device, a light blocking film is formed on a surface of the another substrate and contacts with the liquid crystal. The light blocking film has a resistance larger than n·τ/CLC wherein n is a number of bits of the condenser type digital analog converter, τ is an operation stabilizing time of a condenser per one bit, and CLC is electrostatic capacitance between the poly-silicon TFT substrate and the another substrate.

摘要： An LCD device includes a transparent glass plate 122 and thin film transistor electrodes 124 formed on the glass plate 122. A photosensitive insulation film 128 is coated on the glass plate 122 and the thin film transistor electrodes 124. The insulation film 128 includes transparent and reflective regions 134 and 133 which are different in thickness. Light shielding films 126 are positioned underneath boundaries of the transparent and reflective regions 134 and 133. Where an optical exposure stage includes different reflection coefficient portions, the light shielding films 126 prevent light reflected by the exposure stage from reaching the insulation film thereby maintaining the accuracy of its patterning.
