    • Provided is a bearing abnormality sensing system for a railway vehicle, the bearing abnormality sensing system being capable of accurately making an abnormality determination for a railway vehicle bearing. The bearing abnormality sensing system (100) for a railway vehicle senses abnormality in a plurality of roller bearings (17) assembled in an axle box (3) installed on a carriage (2). The bearing abnormality sensing system (100) includes: a vibration detection device (15) that detects vibrations of each roller bearing; an analysis device (6) that determines abnormality in the roller bearings (17) on the basis of detection data detected by the vibration detection device (15); and a reception responsive detection start means (13) that receives a detection start signal and causes the vibration detection device (15) to detect vibrations in the roller bearings. The system further includes a measurement start instruction transmission device (4) installed away from the railway vehicle and that transmits the detection start signal to the reception responsive detection start means (13).
