    • Invention relates to a scrubber system (8) for treating exhaust gas in a marine vessel (1)with a water based solution, the vessel having a hull (2) and comprising a source of exhaust gas (4) in the vessel, the scrubber system (8) comprising a first scrubber unit (8.1) and a second scrubber unit (8.2), an exhaust gas inlet (16) in the first scrubber unit and an exhaust gas outlet (26) in the second scrubber unit and a second conduit section connecting (14) the first scrubber unit to the second scrubber unit, a first scrubbing medium circuit (20) and a second scrubbing medium circuit (22). The first scrubber medium circuit (20) is provided with a source of scrubbing solution comprising a first connection to outside of the hull (2) beneath the water line of the vessel and that the second scrubber medium circuit is provided with a source of scrubbing solution comprising a source of fresh water in the vessel. Invention relates also to a method of treating exhaust gas in scrubber system (8) of a marine vessel.

    • Procedure and apparatus for controlling the barking process in a barking drum, which procedure uses measuring devices (13a, 13b, 14a, 14b) placed in conjunction with the barking drum (1) to measure the weight of the drum. The measurement signals obtained from the weight measuring devices are used to calculate the degree of fullness of the drum, and this data is used to control the position of the delivery gate of the drum so as to achieve the desired degree of fullness. Moreover, the degree of barking of the logs is monitored, and the barking degree data is used as a basis for the control of the speed of rotation of the drum.
