摘要： A firearm slide dampening mechanism includes a rod and a return spring, positioned forward of the receiver for dampening the vibrations and the shock caused by the slide engaging the recirver during its recoil. The mechanism is a recessed socket block mounted for limited movement in the firearm. The block is moved to the rear when the slide engages the block. The rod end is positioned between the block and block mount to cause socket block is moved rearwardly. The travel of the recoiling slide is arrested without the use of additional resilient parts, such as rubber, plastic or other compressible materials, which are subject to deterioration from solvents, age and other causes.

摘要： A semi-automatic or auto-loading firearm has a spent-cartridge removal and bolt-locking arangement, including a finger which is engageable in a longitudinal recess in the reciprocating bolt. The finger engages the spent-cartridge as it is being retracted rearwardly by the automatic rearward movement of the bolt to eject the cartridge from the receiver. The finger does not interfere with the bolt travel until the expenditure of all cartridges and the subsequent travel of the bolt to a rearward position. The finger then interferes with and stops further movement of the bolt. The finger is mounted adjacent to the path of travel of the cartridge and the bolt.

摘要： A user-adjustable recoil reduction system for a firearm includes a buttstock and a butt pad assembly movably mounted to the buttstock. A spring is disposed in the buttstock which is acted on by opposing front and rear spring guides. A preload adjustment screw is rotatably coupled to the butt pad assembly which engages the rear spring guide. Rotating the screw in opposing directions alternatingly advances or retracts the rear spring guide in the buttstock. Advancing the rear spring guide compresses the spring to set a first spring preload condition and retracting the rear spring guide relaxes the spring to set a second spring preload condition different than the first condition. The spring preload conditions may be selected to match firing light or heavy type ammunition shell loads. In one embodiment, the adjustment screw is accessible for adjusting the preload without removing the butt pad assembly from the buttstock.
