    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable lancet apparatus which is disposable, can be manufactured in a substantially effective pattern in cost, nevertheless is substantially safely used, and can be securely prevented from reuse once contaminated. SOLUTION: A lancet is movable in the disposable lancet apparatus. When the lancet is set to a perforation oriented state, a perforation tip protrudes from the lancet apparatus and can perforate the patient' skin. A tension is applied to the lancet by a locking assembly and a condition for immediate ejection is maintained. The movement of the lancet to the inside and outside is prevented by this locking assembly until the lancet is released by the assembly. An actuator is engaged to the patient, is pressed to the inner side of a housing, releases the lancet from the oriented state for immediate ejection under the tension, and drives the lancet to the perforation oriented state. A protective cover engaged to the lancet is also provided. This protective cover not only shields the perforation tip of the lancet but also shields the actuator, and thus prevents the movement of the actuator to the inner side as the result of engagement of the protective cover and the locked lancet.     • An improved single use lancet unit with a movable safety sleeve for shielding the sharp contaminated tip of a used lancet including means for fixedly securing the sleeve in its protective position. The lancet unit includes a lancet having a rod-shaped body disposed at one end in a lancet retaining member and a sterile sharp tip at the other end. The lancet unit includes a movable sleeve with an axial passageway therethrough sized to receive the lancet body segment which extends beyond the retaining member coaxially therein. The sleeve is movable longitudinally from an initial position for use of the lancet unit wherein the sharp tip of the lancet projects beyond the sleeve to a protective position wherein the sleeve surroundingly encloses and shields the contaminated tip of the used lancet unit. The lancet unit further includes a coupling member and a receiving opening which matingly engage to fixedly secure the sleeve in its protective position.

    • A single use disposable lancet device including a housing wherein a spring is contained, the spring including a first end fixed within the housing and having a movable second end zone with a pointed blade or terminal end, the second end zone being movable relative to a normal position with the pointed terminal end contained within the housing and adjacent a first opening in the housing, between a cocked position completely within the housing and with energy stored in the spring, and a piercing position with the second end zone in the first opening and the pointed terminal end momentarily exterior of the housing. The housing further including a lever arm including a holding tip to maintain the second end zone in cocked position until pivotally moved by an operator resulting in release of the second end zone such that the second end zone moves to its piercing position, and as soon as it pierces, retracts into the housing.
