摘要： The present invention relates to a polyclonal antiserum against a universal tumor antigen obtainable by (i) eliciting an in vivo humoral response against embryonic tissue in a non-human vertebrate, whereby said embryonic tissue is of the same genetic line as the non-human vertebrate; (ii) recovering from the immunized non-human animal spleen and isolating from said spleen individual spleen cells/lymphocytes; (iii) eliciting a second in vivo humoral response to the isolated spleen cells/lymphocytes suspension obtained in step (ii) in a further non-human animal of the same genetic line as the non-human animal of step (i); and (iv) isolating the desired polyclonal antiserum from said animal. Furthermore, the invention provides for the use of the polyclonal antiserum for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for the amelioration, prevention and/or treatment of cancer, in particular cancer of the breast, lung, prostate, uterus, colon, stomach or bladder. Additionally the invention relates to the use of the polyclonal serum of the invention for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition, wherein said pharmaceutical composition is to be administered to a subject in need of treatment in combination with a further anti-proliferative drug or medicament.

摘要： A cardiac rhythm management system for providing a plurality of therapy modalities. For example, the system may include a cardiac resynchronization therapy module for providing cardiac resynchronization therapy and a pacemaker module for providing bradycardia therapy, as well as a selector module coupled to the cardiac resynchronization therapy module and the bradycardia module. The selector module may select an operating mode from among a plurality of operating modes including the cardiac resynchronization therapy module and the pacemaker module. Various manual and automatic methods may be used to select the operating mode. In addition, a reversion management system may be included to assist the cardiac rhythm management system to recover in case of a disruption to the system.

摘要： An implantable cardiac protection pacing system delivers pacing pulses to protect the heart from injuries associated with ischemia and myocardial infarction. The system includes an implantable pulse generator (PG) that delivers the pacing pulses and a coronary stent electrically connected to the implantable PG to function as a pacing electrode through which the pacing pulses are delivered. In one embodiment, an intravascular lead provides the electrical connection between the coronary stent and the implantable PG to allow the implantable PG to be implanted in the femoral region. In another embodiment, the coronary stent and the implantable PG are integrated into an intravascular pulse generator-stent.

摘要： Methods and devices for delivering cardiac therapy to a patient are provided. Various implantable device embodiments comprise a plurality of leads and a controller. The leads include at least one lead to be positioned within a lead path to deliver ventricular pacing pulses and to deliver neural stimulation at a site proximate to the heart to inhibit sympathetic nerve activity. The controller controls delivery of the ventricular pacing pulses in accordance with a programmed pacing mode and controls delivery of the neural stimulation. The controller is programmed to deliver remodeling control therapy (RCT) by delivering ventricular pacing to pre-excite a ventricular myocardium region to mechanically unload that region during systole, and further is programmed to deliver anti-remodeling therapy (ART) by delivering neural stimulation to inhibit sympathetic nerve activity in conjunction with RCT. Various embodiments provide a lead assembly to deliver ventricular pacing pulses and neural stimulation.
