摘要： Determining and implementing individualized platelet support regimens (e.g., administering specified platelet numbers; and, schedules for administration or other intervention, in accordance with the requirements assessed for individual patients) by: monitoring platelet clearance kinetics; analyzing the kinetics to determine value(s) proportionally representing both the extent and frequency of vascular injury, and using such value(s) to determine the momentary requirement for maintaining vascular integrity, and constructing a corresponding platelet administration regimen where said regimen preferably provides for the utilization of platelets selected, from a platelet inventory, in accordance with the recipient's molecular “type”. Releasing from an inventory of a platelet inventory system the particular typed or profiled platelet amounts required to satisfy the platelet administration regimen of each patient. Establishing a replenishing inventory of antigen-typed or antigen-profiled platelets or other cells, which are perishable and may be replaced after expiration, where the inventory can be virtual or held across several locations.

The preferred number of samples per pool "d" is determined by setting d as an integer which produces the maximum or a value near the maximum of the product of: d times the expected number of unambiguous sample pools, where a sample pool is unambiguous if all of the samples have the desirable attributes, and is otherwise ambiguous if at least one sample has the desirable attributes. The value selected as d can be greater than the maximum product above, so as to enlarge the total number of samples assayed in determining the desirable attributes.

摘要： A method mediated with in-vitro transcription ("IVT") which permits miniaturization of multiplexed DNA and RN analysis, and in which elongation-mediated multiplexed analysis of polymorphisms (eMAP®) is used as the analysis step, is described. Also described is a method mediated with IVT is for selecting a designated strand from T7-tagged double a stranded DNA: wherein, the selected strand forms the template for RNA synthesis. In one embodiment, double stranded DNA incorporating the T7 (or other) promoter sequence at the 3' end or the 5'end is produced, for example, by amplification of genomic DNA using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Also disclosed are nested PCR designs permitting allele analysis in combination with strand selection by IVT. Further, in one embodiment of a homogeneous format for transcription-mediated amplification and multiplexed detection (which may be particularly suited for viral or pathogen detection), encoded microparticles display "looped" capture probe configurations permitting the generation of a signal upon capture of RNA product and real-time assay monitoring.
