摘要： The automobile alternator of the present invention includes a stator, a rotor, and voltage-rectifying means in the form of diodes for rectifying AC voltages, supplied by phase belts of the stator, into DC voltage. According to the invention, the voltage rectifying means includes at least one Super Barrier Rectifier (SBR) low loss diode (D1 to D6). In a specific embodiment, at least half of the set of rectifying diodes of the alternator are SBR ones and define a rectifying half-bridge. Preferably, however, the SBR diodes form the entirety of the rectifying bridge. A reduction in the Joule losses of the alternator can be achieved by excising at least one electrical conductor by means of a slot of the stator, as compared to a comparable power alternator including PN diodes.
