The conveyor (17) has a longitudinal direction defined by the direction of travel of the product package. The vacuum chamber has a heat sealing and cutting assembly (143) oriented transversely to the longitudinal direction of the conveyor and in a position with sufficient spacing between end walls of the vacuum chamber and the assembly (143) for the product package containing two or more products to be loaded into the vacuum chamber (3a) with at least one product located in front of the heat sealing and cutting assembly and at least one other product located behind the heat sealing and cutting assembly. The heat sealing and cutting assembly (143) seals and cuts between two products to form two separate evacuated packages.

摘要： An oxygen scavenger composition, for use in or with plastics materials, includes a polymer or oligomer having at least one cyclohexene group or functionality. The composition produces only low levels of volatile or (extractable from a plastics material in which it is incorporated) products as a consequence of oxygen scavenging. A family of polymers containing selected cyclic allylic pendent groups for oxygen scavenging packaging which has minimal organoleptic by-products after oxidation. Multilayer plastic containers for food and beverage packaging which incorporate oxygen scavenging resins which selectively oxidize upon activation without giving off odorous fragments.

摘要： A device or sachet (3) for maintaining or modifying the atmosphere in a package suitable for meat, beef, lamb, pork, etc. the device including at least two containing layers (4, 5), a moisture activated chemical substance (6) contained by the containing layers, and at least one absorbent layer (7). Moisture within the package is soaked up by the absorbing layer (7). The moisture is then transferred from the absorbing layer to permeate through a micro-porous layer (5) as water vapour and activate the chemicals (6). The gas produced by the chemicals (6) then passes through the sachet and into the package's atmosphere. This modifies the atmosphere to ensure that there is an adequate quantity of CO2 for achieving the desired shelf life of the packaged food.
