    • The invention relates to a functional block of a front-end circuit for a communications terminal that is designed for a multiband and/or multimode operation. The inventive placement of a pin-diode switch in one of the signal paths, which run parallel to one another, instead of placing it on the input side before splitting the signal paths succeeds in dispensing with an input-side impedance transformation network and reduces signal loss of and space required by the circuit. In another embodiment, the signal paths preferably assigned to the adjacent frequency bands are combined on the output side, whereby the further processing of the signals corresponding to different frequency bands ensues in one path. This enables, for example, a chip set, which is designed for (n 1) frequency bands, to be used within the scope of a transmission system designed for n bands. Another embodiment of the invention enables, in a multimode system, the monitoring of the received signal of a system also in the operating mode of the other system. The inventive integration of all components of the front-end circuit in one module makes it possible to obtain stable electrical properties of the circuit.
