    • The invention concerns a machine for working dough portions, the machine having a positioning unit which comprises a radial pusher, a rotatably driven portioning drum with, radially disposed in the portioning drum, portioning cylinders with portioning pistons moving in them, the stroke of the pistons being controlled by the rotation of cams with spiral cam surfaces, located in several longitudinally spaced units, and at least one delivery roller, the machine also having a dough-working unit which comprises a rotatably driven honeycomb drum with honeycomb spaces extending radially across the drum, a rotatably driven dough working drum located coaxially inside the honeycomb drum, a dough-working belt which at least partly surrounds the dough-working drum and which has a flour-dusting station, a stretching unit and a delivery unit, the machine further having a weighing unit and a dough-spreading unit. The aim of the invention is to provide a machine which shows the lowest possible tendency to soiling and is as easy as possible to disassemble and clean, andyet is as simple as possible in construction while nevertheless, providing the maximum degree of automatic control of the adjustable operating conditions and a complete sequence of operations, including check-weighing and spreading out of the dough portions, so that the machine can be incorporated in a fully automatic backing facility and yet be very easily adapted to changing production requirements. This aim is achieved by virtue of the fact that the stroke of the portioning piston of each longitudinally spaced unit can be independently adjusted by means of a motor drive while the machine is operating, and this adjustment is controlled automatically as a function of the dough-portion weight as determined by the weighing unit.
