摘要： A percutaneous-administration-type pharmaceutical preparation of nitroglycerin is provided. The preparation comprises a backing that is impervious to medicines, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer that is placed on one surface of said backing, wherein said pressure-sensitive adhesive layer contains an alkyl (meth)acrylate (co)polymer in the concentration of 35-85% by weight, nitroglycerin in the concentration of 10-30% by weight, and a silicic acid anhydride in the concentration of 5-20% by weight, said (co)polymer contains as major (co)polymer components alkyl (meth)acrylates with alkyl groups having 6 or more carbon atoms, which alkyl (meth)acrylates include 2-ethylhexyl methacrylate in the concentration of 40-100% by weight based on the total weight of said alkyl (meth)acrylates. The preparation makes it possible for nitroglycerin to be absorbed percutaneously at a controlled rate for a long period of time. Also, even a compact preparation can supply a sufficient amount of nitroglycerin. Moreover, the preparation can be manufactured at low cost without any complicated process.

摘要： Antibodies for inhibiting periodontitis may be prepared by isolating at least one antigen from the pili-like structures (fimbriae) of at least one microorganism capable of inducing or aggravating periodontitis, immunising a mammal with said at least one antigen and recovering resultant antibodies from said mammal. Such antibodies may be administered to humans in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient. Suitable antibody-containing compositions for inhibiting periodontitis may take the form of a solid, semi-solid or liquid.

摘要： A transmission line switching apparatus comprises an optical fiber connecting board for holding a plurality of first optical fibers, an optical fiber arranging board, arranged apart from the connecting board with a predetermined spacing between them in the horizontal direction, for holding a plurality of second optical fibers, and a robot for handling the second fibers. Each second optical fiber extends to the connecting board through the arranging board, and the distal end of the second optical fiber is detachably attached to the connecting board so as to be selectively connected to one of the first optical fibers. When the distal end of the second optical fiber is attached to the connecting board, the second optical fiber is laterally extended in a loosened state between the two boards. In this state, the entangled states of the second optical fibers near the two boards are sparser than that in the intermediate position between the two boards. Therefore, the robot can easily handle the second optical fiber.
