    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device and a method having a prioritized erase function.SOLUTION: A storage memory comprises at least one flash unit, and each flash unit comprises a plurality of blocks. A controller is configured: to write data into the plurality of blocks; to designate erasure priority, which correlates with the erasure priority of the data, to each block; and when receiving an emergency erase command, to immediately erase the data in each block according to the erasure priority of each block. Preferably, the controller is configured to perform writing of the data into the plurality of blocks in an arbitrary order in a first flash unit. And the writing into the subsequent flash units is performed in correlation with the order in the first flash unit. Preferably, erasure comprises aborting erasure, before completing the erasure, for at least some of the plurality of blocks.
