    • PURPOSE:To prevent a noise due to dropping of liquid onto a liquid surface, by providing a liquid receiving plate at a space above a liquid receiving tank of a cooling tower, etc. and providing a slanted liquid leading plate around the liquid receiving tank. CONSTITUTION:The liquid receiving plate 7 is provided above the liquid receiving tank 4 that receives water which has been dropped onto a filling 3 from a water spray pipe 2 within the cooling tower 1 to be subjected to heat exchange. The outer circumference of the liquid receiving plate 7 is formed into a slant 9 including a liquid receiving table 11 which is in touch with a mouth edge 8 of the liquid receiving tank 4, radial grooves 12 are formed on the upper surfaces of the liquid receiving plate 7 and the liquid receiving table 11, and liquid passing ports 13 are formed in the lower end of the liquid receiving table 11. From the inner circumference of the mouth edge 8 of the liquid receiving tank 4 to the liquid surface extends the slant liquid leading plate 14. Further sound absorbing materials 15, 17 are bonded on the liquid receiving plate 7, the liquid receiving table 11, and the liquid leading plate 14, and a sound absorbing material 18 is floated on the liquid surface. Thus, as the liquid cooled in the filling 1 is received on the sound absorbing material 15 of the liquid receiving table 11 or the liquid receiving plate 7, the noise can be damped.

    • PURPOSE:To arrest noises effectively by lowering the temperature of the fluid containing noises suddenly and giving abnormality to sound waves of noises contained in the fluid. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas exhausted from an engine is at first introduced into the inmost pipe 2 fixed on its one end to a lid plate 6 in a noise-arresting chamber 7 through an entrance pipe 1. Subsequently, the gas meanders through an intermediate pipe 3 and the outmost pipe 4 fixed on theri one ends to a lid plate 5, as being lowered in the temperature properly. Then, the exhaust gas is conducted through an air-hole 8 into an expansion chamber 9, where it is further lowered in the temperature and introduced into a pipe 14 through an entrance 10. After it meanders through pipes 14-11 provided with holes 19-22 alternately on their top and tail, it is conducted to the second expansion chamber 18 through a small hole, and therefrom meanders through an exit side noise-arresting chamber 23 constructed similarly to the entrance side one into an exhaust pipe 24 to be exhausted to the open air.
