摘要： There is disclosed herein a universal clamp assembly for use in supporting and grasping medical appliances. The assembly includes a housing having means at one end for securing the assembly to a pole or other support. A pair of replaceable opposed arms extend outwardly from the other end of the housing and define a jaw for grasping the appliance. Each of the arms includes pivot means for pivotally securing the arms to the housing and permitting the arms to be moved between open and closed positions. Biasing means are positioned in the housing to cooperate with the arms to resiliently bias the arms toward a closed or grasping position which gives the jaws a snap action.The arms and biasing means are mounted for rotation about the longitudinal axis of the housing so as to permit positioning of the appliances at various attitudes which is desirable in debubbling a dialyzer. Furthermore, each of the arms is replaceable so as to permit use of the assembly with various types of appliances.An interlocking bracket and auxiliary clamp construction is also provided for securing auxiliary appliances to the universal clamp assembly. The bracket includes a pair of outwardly diverging ear-like members having shaped outer surfaces. The clamp includes a connector end having a pair of converging ears which are shaped for mating and releasable engagement with said bracket ears.

摘要： A connector valve for selectively permitting the transfer of fluids therethrough is described. Multiple-way valve means communicates with a plurality of conduits and selectively permits and prevents flow between the conduits. The multiple-way valve means comprises outer walls made of a substantially ultraviolet-transmissive material, with the outer walls of the multiple-way valve means preferably enclosing an elastomeric seal member defining rotatable channel means for communication with differing conduits at differing rotational positions, and also providing a rotatable seal against inner surfaces of the outer walls to maintain an antimicrobial seal of said conduits. The channel means is exposed along its entire length to an inner surface of an outer wall, to facilitate the antimicrobial effect of ultraviolet radiation. Also, a novel method of practicing continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, and an ultraviolet light applicator, is disclosed.

The device comprises an elongated, flexible, foldable strap (10) attached at one end to a bracket (12), the bracket adapted to be secured to an elevated surface. There is an adjusting means, preferably a bolt (18) integral with the bracket to enable attachment and detachment of the bracket to an elevated surface. Finally, there are support means (24, 30) for suspension of the solution container, the support means being adjustably engagable with the strap at any desired location on the strap. Although primarily intended for use by patients practicing the medical procedure of continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD), the device is readily usable for suspension of other container types.

The hanger comprises two basic parts: a first member and a second member rotationally affixed to the first member to enable the hanger to be placed in an infusion, drain, or storage position. Hanger means are attached to the second member to enable the solution container hanger to be hung from a door or other elevated structure for infusion of a solution. Support means are attached to the first and second members from which a solution container is hung for infusion or drain. The first and second members are positioned substantially perpendicular in a drain position and substantially parallel in an infusion or storage position.
