    • Systems and methods are provided for an antenna coupler mechanism. The antenna coupler mechanism includes a first tuning leg configured to accept a radio frequency device. The first tuning leg includes a first inductive circuit element that is connected in series with the radio frequency device. The antenna coupler mechanism further includes a second tuning leg, which includes a second inductive circuit element and a capacitive circuit element connected in series. A bottom plate is connected in parallel with the first tuning leg and in parallel with the second tuning leg. The bottom plate comprises a third inductive circuit element and is configured to couple energy into a nearby structure.

    • A system for determining insertion loss of a telephone line under test (LUT) predicts a length d of the LUT at each of a number of discrete frequencies. The system determines for each predicted length d a running standard deviation that is a function of the predicted length(s) d at and below the frequency where the predicted length d was determined; and determines a mean length (dm) of the LUT as a function of the lengths d of the LUT determined for each frequency at and below the pair of adjacent frequencies where the largest difference between running standard deviations occurs. The system determines a gauge of the LUT as a function of the running standard deviation the one of said pair of adjacent frequencies; and determines an insertion loss value of the LUT as a function of the gauge and the mean length dm.

    • Systems and methods are provided for generating an amplitude modulation signal to a switchmode power amplifier. A DC to DC switch is configured to receive a DC input voltage and to provide a DC output voltage. A low dropout regulator is configured to provide the amplitude modulation signal according to a modulation control signal received by the low dropout regulator. A control circuit is configured to establish a nominal operating power level for the power amplifier via the amplitude modulation signal and to maintain a minimum voltage difference between the DC output voltage and the low dropout regulator output. A modulator control circuit is configured to provide the modulation control signal to the low dropout regulator. The modulator control circuit provides the transition from a high amplitude to a low amplitude and a transition from the low amplitude to the high amplitude at configurable first and second slopes, respectively.

    • A telephone test system (2) includes a controller (4), a programmable gate array (PGA) (24) and a digital signal processor (DSP) (26) connected by a common bus (20). The PGA (24) includes an output connected to an input of a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) (36) and input connected to an output of an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) (32). A driver circuit (46) is connected between the DAC (36) and a telephone circuit (60) and between the ADC (32) and the telephone circuit (60). Under the control of the DSP (26), the driver circuit (46) generates voltages to the telephone circuit (60) and samples the response of the telephone circuit (60) to such generated voltages. The driver circuit (46) includes control inputs for receiving from the PGA (24) an impedance adjust signal (D) and a resistance adjust signal (R). An output impedance (124) of the driver circuit (46) connected to the telephone circuit (60) is adjustable as a function of the impedance adjust signal (D) and/or the resistance adjust signal (R).
