    • A virtual machine manager (VMM) enables provisioning of services to multiple clients via a single data processing system configured as multiple virtual machines. The VMM performs several management functions, including: configuring/assigning each virtual machine (VM) for/to a specific, single client; scheduling the time and order for completing client services via the assigned client VM; instantiating a client VM at a scheduled time and triggering the execution of services tasks required for completing the specific client services on the client VM; monitoring and recording historical information about the actual completion times of services on a client VM; and updating a scheduling order for sequential instantiating of the multiple client VMs and corresponding client services, based on one or more of (i) pre-established time preferences, (ii) priority considerations, and (iii) historical data related to actual completion times of client services at a client VM.

    • A privilege discriminator selects a first user to be in a first group of participants to participate in a screen sharing session. The privilege discriminator selects at least one second user to be in a second group of participants to participate in a screen sharing session. The privilege discriminator selects a first screen region for sharing to at least the first group of participants and selects a second screen region for sharing only to the second group of participants. The privilege discriminator shares the first screen region with at least the first group of participants, wherein the sharing is selecting a device authenticated as being used by one of the first group of participants. The presentation privilege discriminator sharing the second screen region with only the second group, based on selecting the second screen region and selecting the second group, excludes the first group from receiving the second screen region.

    • A method, system and computer program product are disclosed for user initiated rule based restrictions on sending messages from a sender to a receiver in a communications network. The receiver establishes a set of rules for the sender that allows the sender a limited number of defined messages events with the receiver. The defined message events may be messages or message sessions. When the sender attempts to send a message to the receiver, it is determined whether a message session currently exists between the sender and the receiver. If a current session exists, the rules set by the receiver are used to determine if the message is allowed to be sent to the receiver. If a session does not currently exist, the rules are used to determine whether a new session is allowed. If a new message session is allowed, a new session is established, and the message is sent to the receiver during the new session.

    • A mechanism for determining an optimal compression technique for each data file when creating a computer archive file from a set of data files. A local archiving application receives an instruction to archive a set of data files and determines the file type and size of a data file in the set of data files. An optimal compression method for the data file is selected based on the file type and size of the data file. The archiving application compresses the data file using the optimal compression method. The archiving application updates meta data associated with the compressed file to include a meta compression format identifier of the optimal compression method used to compress the data file. The archiving application then repeats the determining, selecting, compressing, and updating for each data file in the set of data files to create an archive of the set of data files.
