    • A knee rehabilitation device is provided which can be used in various stages of knee rehabilitation to facilitate a full range of knee motion and promote joint flexibility following a knee impairment. The device, which can be used by a patient with or without the aid of medical personnel, is simple to use, compact, and is highly adjustable to accommodate different therapy regimens, and different leg sizes. To achieve maximum stretch of affected tissues of a pathologic joint, the device can be used without the need of lower extremity muscle involvement. A first embodiment device is machined or cast from a lightweight structural metal, such as titanium, aluminum or magnesium. The device includes a handle of adjustable length that is rotatably coupled to a parallel-beam leg support. The leg support provides attachment points for multiple adjustable bands that bridge the gap between the parallel beams.

    • A system and method is provided for optimizing a purchase of a desired product on a computer. The method includes receiving product information related to the desired product, a companion product, shelf prices, ring prices, a price threshold, and a rebate amount, and calculating a total shelf price based on shelf prices of the desired and companion products. The method further includes determining whether the total shelf price is greater than or equal to the price threshold, and if so, calculating a total ring price based on the ring prices of the desired and companion products. A result set is provided with the total shelf price and the total ring price. The result set may be ordered based on the total ring price. If a selection of a desired product is received, the result set may include the desired product.

    • A scoop for measuring and dispensing powdered or granular material has at least one projection, such as a fin, multiple intersecting fins, or a spike, which enable the scoop to be “parked” in the surface of a powdered or granular food product without the handle of the scoop coming in contact with the product. The projection is preferably molded unitary with the scoop and handle. Unless the container is vigorously shaken, dropped, or subjected to extreme accelerative or decelerative forces, the scoop will remain in its parked position until the container is reopened for a further dispensing of the powdered or granular food product. The scoop may be packaged as an assembly in combination with a discardable floating scoop retainer disk, that is placed on the surface of the granular or powdered product, and prevents the scoop from sinking below the surface during shipping and handling.

    • In accordance with an embodiment of the present intention, a fluorine residue removing method includes: supplying an oxygen-containing gas and a hydrogen-containing gas into a CVD chamber; producing a plasma of a mixture of the oxygen-containing gas and the-hydrogen containing gas, so that the plasma reacts with the fluorine residue, exothermically generating water; and evacuating from the CVD chamber a product of the reaction between the plasma and the fluorine residue. For the hydrogen-containing gas, NH3 is often used, and for the oxygen-containing gas, N2O, O2, or air is used. Exemplary mixtures of the oxygen-containing and the hydrogen-containing gases include 70 mol % N2O/NH3, 50 mol % N2O/NH3, and 52 mol % O2/NH3. An inert gas, such as He, Ne, Ar, or Kr, can be optionally supplied into the chamber to stabilize the plasma.

    • A RAID-compatible data storage system which allows incremental increases in storage capacity at a cost that is proportional to the increase in capacity. The system does not require changes to the host system. The control and interface functions previously performed by a single (or redundant) central data storage device controller are distributed among a number of modular control units (MCUs). Each MCU is preferably physically coupled to a data storage device to form a basic, low-cost integrated storage node. One of two bus ports interfaces an MCU with the host computer on a host bus, and the other bus port interfaces an MCU with one or more data storage devices coupled to the MCU by a data storage device bus. The serial interface ports provide a means by which each of the MCUs may communicate with each other MCU to facilitate the implementation of a memory array architecture. The entire data storage array may appear as a single device capable of responding to a single identification number on the host bus, or may appear as a number of independent devices. A controlling MCU receives a command and notifies the other MCUs that are involved in a read or write operation. Control of the host bus is transferred from one MCU to the next MCU in sequence so that the data is received by the host computer, or written to each data storage device, in the proper order.
