    • PURPOSE: To provide a remotely controlled power source for TV whose power consumption is small during the waiting operation. CONSTITUTION: The remotely controlled power source includes a switching element S1 provided with a main switching part T1 connected to an input voltage source 10 and an on/off control part T2 which responds to an on/off switching signal. A main power source 19 has an input side 19a, which receives a main power from the input voltage source at the time when the main switching part is in a close position, and an output side 19b which is negatively fed. An on/off decoder 16 decodes an instruction signal, which has plural states including the normal operation state and the waiting state, to supply the on/off switching signal. During the wait, a standby power source 13 is connected to the input voltage source for the purpose of supplying a standby power to the on/off decoder, and the switching element disconnects the main power source from the input voltage source. A second decoder 21 is provided to decode other states of the instruction signal.

    • An automatic kinescope beam current limiter for a television receiver includes a source of derived beam current representative voltage, a keyed sampling circuit for developing an output beam current control voltage on a charge storage capacitor in response to the derived voltage, and an auxiliary current path including an impedance coupled between the output capacitor and the source of derived voltage. In a normal beam limiting control mode, the control voltage from the sampling circuit serves to modify the television signal in response to the derived voltage in a direction to limit excessive beam current. In an abnormal control mode such as when the sampling circuit is inoperative due to disrupted keying, current is conducted via the auxiliary current path in response to the derived voltage to modify the control voltage on the capacitor with a sense and at a rate for limiting excessive beam current, to thereby preserve beam limiting capability.
