      SOLUTION: This cloth piece treatment unit includes the following processes: the introducing a large-area cloth piece into a press machine 6 by a supply device, pressing the cloth piece in a spread state by a press machine 6, folding it into a predetermined size by a folding machine 1, measuring the length of the spread cloth piece in the conveying direction by a cloth length measuring instrument 7 having a cloth piece detector 71, and folding the spread cloth piece by the folding machine 1 in accordance with the length of the spread cloth piece. The cloth piece detector 71 is installed at a prescribed position on the supply device that is located on the front side of the press machine 6, so that the horizontal length of a receiving conveyor 11 on the side of the folding machine 1 is shortened as much as possible to reduce the whole length of the folding machine 1 as well as that of the cloth piece treatment unit.
