摘要： The present invention relates to a novel monascuspurpurone compound of formula (I): or a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative thereof as described in the specification, the process for preparation of the same, and the composition comprising the same. The uses of a monascuspurpurone compound for promoting adipocyte differentiation, for increasing the activity of PPARγ and/or C/EBPα, for lowering blood glucose, for preventing and/or treating a disease or disorder related to insulin resistance, and for preventing and/or treating metabolic syndrome or its complications are also provided.

摘要： A lifeguard alarm system for a swimming pool has a sensing device, at least one electromagnetic wave receiver and a host, the sensing device capable of attaching onto a user; wherein when the sensing device detects the more than two conditions, an microprocessor in the sensing device sends a signal to the at least one electromagnetic wave receiver disposed around the swimming pool and wirelessly connected to the host, and the host sends out an alarm. Furthermore, includes a fail-safe mechanism; therefore, when the first detecting mechanism of the sensing device detects that the user is not in the corresponding predetermined dangerous state, to prevent malfunctioning of the first detecting mechanism from creating problems.

摘要： A life saving and warning system for a swimming pool includes an electromagnetic wave emitting device, at least one electromagnetic wave receiving device, and a main processor. The main processor includes a counting device, a time preset device, and a warning device. Thus, when the user stays in the water during a longer period of time exceeding the predetermined time interval of the time preset device 31, the warning device 32 of the main processor 30 sends a warning signal to a life saver to notify the life saver that the user is drowning so that the life saver can get to the user to save the user's life so as to protect the user's safety when swimming in the swimming pool.
