摘要： A shoulder pad for use with a shoulder strap for improving the distribution of the weight on a user's shoulder of an object carried by the strap thereby reducing the discomfort to the user and the tendency of the strap to slide off the user's shoulder. The shoulder pad comprises an arcuate shoulder strap support surface and one or more inclined wedges transversing the support surface between the inner and outer edges thereof. The wedges are inclined upwardly toward the outer edge of the support strap. A strap securement clip is removably secured about a centrally disposed wedge, pinching portions of the shoulder strap about the wedge and causing the strap to turn outwardly from the wedge and securing the pad to the strap. A pair of strap retention members are spaced slightly above and transverse the strap support surface proximate the extended ends thereof to hold the portions of the shoulder strap thereunder against the support surface, thereby cooperating with the securement clip to cause the strap bear against any laterally disposed secondary wedges on the support surface and turn outwardly therefrom. As a result of the turns provided in the strap by the pad, the strap substantially follows the contour of the user's shoulder and projects downwardly therefrom at an outward declination toward the object carried by the strap, effectively distributing the load on the strap across the pad to a larger area of the user's shoulder.

摘要： An adjustable support device particularly adapted for use in a vehicle for removably securing therein an open container to prevent the spillage of the contents thereof. The support device includes a pair of adjacent ring members secured together so as to prevent separation thereof while allowing for relative rotation about a common central axis. In one embodiment of the invention, the lower ring member is defined by the upper portion of a base member which also defines a horizontal beverage container support surface and a non-skid lower bottom surface adapted to rest on a horizontal surface in a vehicle. A plurality of equidistantly spaced gripping members comprised of a pair of arcuate portions joined at their inwardly projecting ends by one or more hinges are carried by and disposed about and between the ring members, such that upon imparting relative rotation to the ring members, the gripping members are caused to pivot about their centrally disposed hinges and project radially inwardly of the ring members to abut and secure a beverage container within the ring members opposite relative rotation of the ring members causes the gripping members to pivot about their hinges in an opposite direction and retract radially outwardly to release the beverage container.

The device includes a base member and a clip member. The clip member defines a pair of snowboard gripping arms and is pivotally mounted on the base member for movement about a horizontal axis whereby the gripping arms can be moved between a snowboard holding position wherein they project outwardly from the base member and a folding position wherein the arms are disposed parallel to and adjacent the base member. In the extended holding position, the clip member can be pivoted about a vertical axis such that upon inserting a transverse portion of the snowboard between the gripping arms, the arms and the snowboard can be moved between perpendicular and parallel orientations with respect to the supporting wall to facilitate access to the snowboard and create an efficient storage means for snowboards.
